Summary
We are looking for a Mid–Senior Laravel Developer to join our engineering team and play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in PHP and Laravel, a solid understanding of backend architecture, and a passion for writing clean, secure, and well-tested code.
Responsibilities and Duties
Backend Engineering & Architecture
Strong proficiency in PHP (7.x/8.x+) and Laravel, with deep understanding of MVC, service container, middleware, Eloquent ORM, migrations, seeders, and relationships.
Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs, implementing authentication & authorization (JWT, OAuth2, Sanctum, Passport), and following Laravel security best practices (CSRF, XSS, SQL injection prevention).
Solid experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, query optimization, caching strategies (Redis, Memcached), queue systems (Redis, RabbitMQ, SQS), and building scalable, maintainable backend systems.
Strong grasp of SOLID principles, clean code, and common design patterns (Repository, Service, Factory, Observer), with understanding of monolithic vs microservice architectures.
Quality, Performance & Optimization
Experience writing unit, feature, and integration tests, with hands-on use of PHPUnit / Pest and understanding of TDD principles.
Strong ability to debug complex issues, refactor legacy code, and improve existing Laravel codebases.
Hands-on experience profiling and optimizing slow queries and APIs using Laravel performance tools (query logs, Telescope, Horizon).
Ability to design and maintain high-traffic backend applications with a focus on performance and reliability.
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience in PHP and Laravel development
Proven experience building and maintaining production-level applications
Strong understanding of backend development best practices and real-world deployment workflows
Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
Bonus Skills
Basic experience with Vue.js, React, or Blade components, and familiarity with Tailwind CSS
Knowledge of multi-tenant data isolation, gRPC-based microservices communication, and WebSocket technologies
Strong collaboration skills when working with frontend developers and distributed teams
